Famously known for its untouched beauty, El Nido has been hailed as a paradise on Earth that’s just waiting to be uncovered.
There are many ways to get to El Nido, the most common route is to fly to Puerto Princesa then take a van or car to El NIdo but this could take you eight to ten hours to reach your destination. But who would want to use up their vacation days en route to paradise when you can take a speedier option?
You could book a direct flight to El Nido Lio Airport, a small privately-owned and operated airline by AirSWIFT. The airline operates flights between Manila, El Nido, Cebu, and Caticlan. El Nido Airport (ENI) is a small airport located on the beachfront, about 5 km from El Nido Town, on the Taytay–El Nido National Highway.
The Lio Airport consists of just a couple of huts along dirt tracks so prepare yourself for a slightly bumpy landing. Once you get to El Nido Airport, there’s a small pier on the beach next to the airport, from which you can travel directly to your hotel. If you weren't able to organise a transfer service with your hotel beforehand, you could choose to ride a tricycle to take you to El Nido Town.
A roundtrip ticket from Manila to El Nido would cost you about Php 7,000 to Php 9,000 depending on the season. It might seem a bit heavy on the budget but a direct flight to El Nido allows you to maximize your time in paradise so you can do more and enjoy your vacation longer.
